Darling Judas, as you smile in my face, I am disarmed. You are my brother, you’ll be safe inside my home. There is a snake here in our grass, selling out our kin. He’s feeding on the hungry, poor and sick as we march on. We’ll take the streets and topple kings, burn the serpents, tear the shackles from our skin as we march on. Brother Judas, I can’t fathom life without you by my side. My broken heart, when I learned you were the reason that I died. Over and out.

Nihilamoris 02:47
I am watching this atrocity play out. It’s played out. On the screen I witness self-respect give way to “feel good” tales at our expense. This fake “forgiveness” will not infect me and mine, if I should die. No love. I am watching this atrocity play out. It’s played out. Everyday, for years, the enemy will tell us, “This is how it should be done. If they can turn the other cheek, can’t you keep your rage inside?” No love. I am watching this atrocity play out. It’s played out. When I see you hug the cop who killed your brother in his home with zero cause, I am shaking, I am angry, don’t you dare forget my words. No love. For our brothers in the ground, those who cannot make a sound, they need us to be their voice. No love.

No surprise: The red and blue are behind me once again. With a threat of early end, they’re yelling “boy, you know we’re coming for you now”. Do I scream? Do I shout obscenities? Do I hide behind a smile as I’m robbed of dignity? If I’m quiet, then I’m dead. If I say too much, I’ll never make it home to kiss my family. To grow older with my Kelli. To grow old and watch my family move along. No surprises. They’re behind me once again with an arsenal I can’t contend with. “Chalk outlines on standby for Black men.” Do I scream? Do I make a massive scene, hoping someone will start filming me, or take my chances grinning?

Slavery, it never left our shores, it took a different form. Legal shackles for the people was always the tragic norm. Pick us off, one-by-one, initiate the killing. Traded nooses for a chair and needle. Modern lynching. Out of sight, out of mind. You want to lock us all away. Behind these bars and frozen walls, stripped of our humanity. In a zoo, locked and forgotten, “make the state some more money.” Giving pennies for an honest shift, “hard work will never pay.” “Don’t bother to heal the broken.” “They’ll be back in here someday.” When the day of freedom comes, our people populate the streets, only to find that prison did not end when given back the key. The warden follows like a ghost, a stain on every little move. “Good luck finding a decent job… who would ever hire you?” Two months later, rent is coming due, they cannot pay. It’s clear, overtime at meager wages will not make a difference here. The bus is late. They cannot make it to meet with their new P.O.. They’re back in shackles. Warden cackles, “and so the story goes!”

Blitzkrieg 01:01
You’ll never know just how quick things change at the end of our rope. You’ll never see it coming until our hands are gripping at your throat. This is a war, and we are the lightning, taking what is ours. Battle stations, one and all. We ride at midnight. Heed the call.

We’re not all built for war. Is it not funny how we take on more than we can handle? The clouds are telling us the storms are coming to the city, but taking shelter does not mean you’re not here on our team. If you worry you’ve misfired by keeping busy, living is enough to haunt the ghosts. We’re not all built for war. Is it not funny how the enemy tries to deny our cause, when they can’t even stomach us living our lives? I never knew my smile threatened you so much. I’m doing fine.

There is no heaven for the wicked. I’ll burn it down. I’m tearing off your wings and fantasies you’ve built out of our bones. You'll have no home now, you are surrounded. Your halos left abandoned. Your broken horns will dot your path. Not even hell will take you back. Exiled. Your image means nothing to me. You will become the new forgotten, locked outside the gates we cleaned. Denial. You lost the good life that you had. You cannot fathom what you did to us. It’s time you felt it back.
